HAWAI, Jun 23: ICAR-KVK Anjaw conducted a day-long training cum demonstration programme on ‘vaccination and disease prevention in poultry’ here today.
The occurrence of disease and lack of awareness on prevention & control is a major threat to the poultry farmers of Anjaw district. Therefore, to impart scientific information and practical demonstration, Dr Santosh Kumar, head (in-charge) of KVK Anjaw, conducted training and practical demonstration on vaccination and disease prevention in poultry.
In his remarks, Dr Kumar said that poultry is a high-risk high-profit business, and so, the need of very efficient management with sound technical knowledge on poultry rearing.
During the technical session, different aspects of poultry feeding, brooding, breed selection, housing and health management were covered and a practical demonstration & hands-on training on scheduled vaccination of poultry was conducted by Dr Kumar.
A total of 30 members from the farming fraternity of Hawai attended the programme and at the end of which Urban SHG were felicitated with 100 packets of mushroom spawn for its round the year cultivation in Hawai circle.
