RONO HILLS, Sep 4: Rajiv Gandhi University is observing Swachhta Pakhwada, which is an initiative of Ministry of Education (MoE), in a befitting manner with focused participation resulting in cleanliness, sanitation, hygiene drive and other related activities with active involvement of students, faculties and other staff members.
In the continuation of this Swachhta Pakhwada-2024, a series of activities, including photo with Selfie Stand and signature campaign, were organized to promote awareness on cleanliness and hygiene.
Today, the Selfie Stand has been set up near university signage on campus, and participants were encouraged to take photos with creative props and share their commitment to cleanliness on social media using a branded hashtag. The signature campaign, meanwhile, collected pledges from the university community to promote sustainable practices and adopt eco-friendly habits.
RGU Vice Chancellor Prof Saket Kushwaha and Registrar Dr N T Rikam led the charge, inspiring others to follow suit. RGU aims to instill a sense of responsibility among all the stakeholders essentially including the students and staff to maintain a clean and healthy environment, both on and off campus.
This initiative embodies the spirit of Mahatma Gandhi's vision for a free, clean, and developed India. RGU is committed to promoting sustainability and cleanliness on campus and in the wider community. The event was attended by over 100 students, faculty, and staff, who enthusiastically participated in the activities and showed their support for the Swachhta Pakhwada initiative.
