Rashtriya Poshan Maah celebration on in Upper Siang dist

YINGKIONG, Sep 4: To further the goal of achieving a Malnutrition Free India, the month long Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2024 is being organized in Upper Siang district spanning the whole month of September.

The theme ‘Test, Treat and Talk Anemia’ marked the beginning of the campaign in which an awareness programme on causes, symptoms and treatment of anemia was conducted in coordination with the Department of Health & Family Welfare at Yingkiong.

In the Jengging ICDS Project, locally grown vegetables and fruits were displayed to promote their nutritive value to the beneficiaries.

At Tuting, CDPO Tupi Bagra led a ‘Jan Andolan’ activity in the form of ‘Poshan March’, which was jointly organized by the Tuting ICDS Project in collaboration with Kendriya Vidyalaya, Tuting, Education Dept and various NGOs. The celebration also witnessed a mass participation in the Poshan pledge calling for affirmative action to attain the objective of ‘Kuposhan Mukt Bharat’ (Malnutrition Free India).

Meanwhile, CDPO Yingkiong Ojing Talom informed that the month-long celebration will focus on key thematic areas like anemia, growth monitoring, Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi, importance of complementary breast feeding and use of technology for better governance. (DIPRO)
