42nd Sub-Jr National Archery Championship in Arunachal Pradesh: Punjab’s Abhijot Singh bags boys’ compound event

ITANAGAR, Nov 28: Abhijot Singh of Punjab bagged the boys’ compound 50+50 metres event at the 42nd NTPC Sub-Junior (Recurve, Compound and Indian Round) National Archery Championship, held at Yupia in Papum Pare district today.

On his way to top the event, Singh scored 713 points out of 720.

He was followed by Haryana’s Shivam Rawat, who scored 705 points; while Mohit Dagar, also of Haryana, scored 703 points.

In the boys’ individual elimination round, Shivam Rawat came first, followed by Pradhuman Yadav and Aditya Mittal.

In the girls’ 50 +50 compound event, Prithika Pradeep of Maharashtra scored 706 points, followed by Vaidehi Hirachandra Jadhav, also of Maharashtra, who scored 698 points. Jiya Yadav of Haryana came in third place with 696 points.

In the girls’ individual elimination round, Prithika Pradeep came first, followed by Jiya Yadav in second and Nishtha Gupta of Uttar Pradesh in third place.

The mixed team event was won by the duo of Prithika Pradeep/Kapish Datta Satghare. Shivam Rawat and Jiya Yadav came in second, followed by Aditya Mittal and Minal of Delhi in third place.

The boys’ team event was won by Andhra Pradesh’s Pallapu Charan Srikar/Magapu Suhas/Eade Sai Radha Krishna Murthy/Karri Buddeswararao. They were followed by Abhijot/Ansh/Gaurav Goyal/Arshpreet Singh of Punjab in second place, while Rajasthan’s Vasu Yadav/Pradhuman Yadav/Devansh Singh/Yogesh Joshi finished in third spot.

The girls’ team event was won by Maharashtra’s Prithika Pradeep/Vaidehi Hirachandra Jadhav/Pranjal Pravin Narwade/Sanjivani Sanjay Kachewad. Delhi’s Minal/Lakeisha Gahlyan/Shranya Arya/Mokshada Poharkar came in second, while B Pooa Pillai/KS Vhenisa Sree/Sudhiksha MK/Sadhana D took the third place.
