‘Cultivate a positive working atmosphere’: L/Siang DEO

NARI, Nov 28: A training programme for presiding officers and 1st polling officers for the upcoming Panchayati Raj Election 2025 was conducted here in Lower Siang district today.

Around 60 trainees participated in the training programme.

Addressing the trainees, Rujjum Rakshap, Lower Siang DC-cum-DEO (PR), emphasized the importance of acquiring adequate knowledge to efficiently handle election duties. He shared key insights for ensuring an error-free polling process and highlighted the need for polling personnel to cultivate a positive working atmosphere and team spirit as soon as they are designated as a polling group.

He further stated that the 1st polling officer must be well-trained to take charge of the polling process in case of any exigency, adding that there should be no eleventh-hour crisis at any polling station under any circumstances.

M. Kakki, AC-cum-RO Koyu, urged the designated polling personnel to carefully absorb both theoretical sessions and practical demonstrations.

ADC Nari and Returning Officer for Nari and Seren elaborated on the responsibilities of polling personnel and discussed the pros and cons related to the conduct of polling duties. He advised that polling teams should reach their respective polling stations before sunset to familiarize themselves with the surroundings and gather essential information about the location and prominent local figures.

He also reminded that polling agents must report at the polling booth by 6 am, an hour before polling begins.

Assistant Commissioner J M Tayeng and Master Trainer Tumkar Ete conducted hands-on drills and practical demonstrations to ensure smooth and efficient polling during the forthcoming PR Election. (DIPRO)
