ITANAGAR, May 23: The Yesteryears Friends (YFS), a Sibut headquartered organization from East Siang district, expressed deep concern over the arrest of Arunachal Anti-Drugs Warriors president Gumin Mize by the Assam Police, and made an earnest appeal to the State Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and Home Minister for prompt intervention to expedite his early release.
The organization stated in a press note that Mize is widely known across the State for his tireless fight against drugs and various anti-social activities. Through his dedication and commitment, he has played a significant role in apprehending several drug peddlers and rehabilitating habitual drug users throughout Arunachal Pradesh, it said.
YFS stated that his arrest, while carrying out his mission against drugs and anti-social elements, is unfortunate and may demoralize the spirit of those working selflessly against the growing drug menace in society.
Expressing its solidarity with Mize and his team, the Org appealed to the CM, Dy CM, and Home Minister for prompt intervention to expedite his early release and the withdrawal of all pending cases against him.
Further reiterating its stand, YFS stated that Gumin Mize is a social activist working for the welfare of society and not a criminal.
