Itanagar, Oct 7: In a landmark Cabinet Aapke Dwar meeting held at Miao on Tuesday, the State Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Pema Khandu approved a slew of major administrative and infrastructure initiatives aimed at strengthening governance and accelerating development in Changlang district.
The Cabinet Aapke Dwar initiative brings the State’s highest decision-making body directly to the people, ensuring region-specific decisions, equitable growth, and efficient service delivery at the grassroots.
Administrative upgradations
To promote decentralization and enhance administrative efficiency, the Cabinet approved several key reforms: Upgradation of Khimiyang EAC Headquarters to ADC Headquarters (Independent), including jurisdiction over Kantang circle; creation of a new administrative circle headquarters at Rajanagar, covering 25 villages under Bordumsa sub-division; and upgradation of Yatdam EAC Headquarters to SDO Headquarters.
Infrastructure development
To strengthen public infrastructure across the district, the Cabinet announced the following major projects: Construction of RWD Division Office and staff accommodation at Jairampur; establishment of a Power Section at Kantang circle; flood protection works at ITI Balinong; establishment of a Fire Station at Bordumsa; construction of a Circuit House and an Open Stadium at Changlang district HQs; and construction of a motorable bridge over the Noa-Dihing River, connecting Miao to Pisi village (TVS area).
Infrastructure for ADC, Miao sub-division
To improve administrative facilities in the Miao sub-division, the Cabinet approved projects worth Rs 8 crore, including extension and additional rooms at ADC Office, Miao (Rs 150 lakh); Type-V (ADC Bungalow) – 1 unit (Rs 75 lakh); Type-IV Quarters – 5 units for SDO, AC & COs (Rs 275 lakh); and Type-II Quarters (G+1) – 12 units (Rs 300 lakh).
The Cabinet also approved Phase-II infrastructure development of the State Sports Academy at Miao with a total investment of Rs 130 crore, underscoring the Govt’s commitment to promote sports and nurture young talent in the region.
Chief Minister Khandu said the Cabinet’s decisions reflected the government’s commitment to bringing governance closer to the people and ensuring balanced development across all regions. He emphasized that each Cabinet Aapke Dwar session is designed to address local priorities while maintaining a statewide development vision.
The Cabinet also reviewed the progress of ongoing projects and directed departments to ensure timely implementation and close monitoring for effective outcomes.
