Dirang, Feb 3: A three-day International Year of Cooperatives (IYC) Zonal-Level Cooperative Seminar was inaugurated by Dirang ADC Choiki Dondup at the Lyndal Gumpa Hall, Dirang, on Tuesday.
The seminar is being organised by the Department of Cooperation, GoAP, in commemoration of the International Year of Cooperatives 2025. The theme of the programme is “Cooperative Business Development Plan to Achieve Sahakar-Se-Samridhi.”
Gyati Kobing, Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies (DRCS) and Nodal Officer, IYC, informed that the United Nations has declared 2025 as the International Year of Cooperatives with the theme “Cooperatives Build a Better World,” adopted by the International Cooperative Alliance. He added that the programme was officially launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 24, 2024, in New Delhi, and guidelines have been issued to all states and union territories to observe the year-long activities.
Addressing the gathering, ADC Choiki Dondup congratulated delegates from across western Arunachal Pradesh and reaffirmed his commitment to promoting the UN theme “Cooperatives Build a Better World.” He urged all cooperators to make full use of the seminar and adopt cooperative principles, which are especially suited to rural development and collective socio-economic growth.
The seminar is being attended by chairpersons, secretaries, board members, managing directors, and members of LAMPS, multipurpose dairy cooperatives, and fisheries cooperative societies from across western Arunachal Pradesh.
The seminar is being conducted under the coordination of T J Lama, DRCS, Bomdila. T Talo, District Development Manager (DDM), NABARD, and Dani Tado, Managing Director, Dirang LAMPS, are serving as resource persons.
The sessions will focus on business development planning, baseline surveys, diagnostic studies, and profitability, highlighting their importance in the socio-economic development of cooperative societies. The programme will also cover opportunities and schemes under NABARD, the Ministry of Cooperation, and various convergence schemes of line departments.
