‘Break away from established practices to take AHV&DD sector to a new height’, stresses Wangsu

ITANAGAR, Feb 7: Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Dairy Development (AHV&DD) Minister Gabriel D Wangsu has emphasized the need to break away from established practices to take the sector to a new height.

Wangsu laid this emphasis while chairing a comprehensive departmental review meeting at Nirjuli today to take stock of ongoing initiatives and address key operational challenges in the sector.

The meeting witnessed extensive brainstorming sessions where officers engaged in detailed deliberations on overall functioning of the department across the State, presenting field-level inputs and outlining the way forward to improve its operations.

The status of milk management in Arunachal Pradesh was reviewed, along with the current performance of Arun Dairy at Karsingsa and Ane Dairy at Pasighat. Progress of various schemes and projects, as well as challenges in their implementation, also came up for discussion.

The role of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) in strengthening the dairy sector in Arunachal Pradesh was deliberated, with emphasis on evolving future strategies that would deliver tangible benefits to the people of the State.

Addressing the officers, the Minister stressed the need for innovative and fresh approaches. “We have to think out of the beaten track. If we continue with the same old way of operating the department, it won't work effectively,” the Minister emphasized.

He further issued clear directions to all officers, emphasizing collective responsibility. “We all have to work as a team,” the Minister stated, underlining the importance of coordinated efforts in achieving departmental goals and delivering effective services.

The deliberations also focused on required amendments and upgrades in existing departmental rules and budgetary provisions to enhance operational efficiency.

Secretary AHV&DD YVVJ Rajsekhar spoke on the importance of achieving quantifiable outcomes and advised senior officers to ensure effective implementation of the resolutions discussed.

The meeting was attended by Dr Danjan Longri, Director AHV; Dr Karbom Basar, Jt Director; Dr Moniya Jini Kato, Dy Director; Dr Mongam Pakam, DVO; Dr Logo Bage, DVO; Dr Badal Biswakarma, animal breeder; Dr Radhe Gangte, farm manager; Dr Sebastian Yomdo, SVO; and Dr Sanjay Nabam, Dairy Officer.

Later, the Minister inspected the Feed Mixing Plant at Nirjuli and directed officials to take necessary steps to make it operational at the earliest.
