Itanagar, Feb 8: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) KT Parnaik on Sunday reviewed the welfare initiatives undertaken by the State’s Rajya Sainik Board during a meeting with Director-cum-Secretary of the Board, Air Commodore (Retd) RD Mosabi, at Lok Bhavan, Itanagar.
The meeting focused on the welfare of ex-servicemen and their dependents, resettlement and employment support, and strengthening coordination with the Armed Forces and government agencies.
The Governor underscored the State Government’s commitment to safeguarding the interests of ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and their families through timely implementation of welfare schemes, financial assistance and an effective grievance redressal mechanism.
Expressing concern for his former comrades-in-arms, the Governor suggested organising Ex-Servicemen Rallies in collaboration with Indian Armed Forces units stationed in the State to ensure wider outreach and direct engagement with veterans across Arunachal Pradesh.
Emphasising the importance of dignified resettlement, Lt Gen (Retd) Parnaik, himself a former Army Commander, called for concrete and result-oriented measures to support ex-servicemen through skill development programmes, employment facilitation and guidance for self-employment ventures.
He further advised the Rajya Sainik Board to function as a robust coordinating platform between the Armed Forces, the State Government, Zilla Sainik Boards and the Kendriya Sainik Board to ensure effective policy implementation and meaningful outreach to the veteran community.
