ITANAGAR, Feb 10: The All Nyishi Students’ Union (ANSU) has demanded additional bus services for Binni Yanga Government Women’s College, Poma, and has submitted a representation to the Commissioner, Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Services (APSTS), in this regard.
Seeking at least four buses to ferry students between Itanagar and the college campus, the union stated that the college was recently shifted from Nirjuli to its permanent site at Poma, where hostel accommodation is available for only 60 students.
ANSU pointed out that the college campus is located on the outskirts of the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR), more than 15 kms away, and lacks private rental houses or paying guest facilities in the vicinity.
The union further stated that the college currently has only two 30-seater buses, which are insufficient to cater to the transportation needs of over 400 students.
