Tuting, Feb 10: Reinforcing its enduring commitment to community development and education in remote border areas, the Indian Army under Spear Corps, as part of Operation Sadbhavana, successfully renovated and re-inaugurated the Kindergarten School at Tuting. The school is being efficiently run by the Women Welfare Society, Tuting, whose dedicated efforts have made the institution a vital support system for the local community.
The re-inauguration ceremony was marked by the presence of Brigadier Vikas Raj Gupta, Commander, Siang Brigade, whose interaction with students highlighted the Indian Army’s continued support towards education, social welfare, and holistic child development in the region.
Established in 1985, the school has been nurturing young minds for nearly four decades. From its modest beginnings with around 30 students, the school received permanent recognition in 2014 and today provides education to over 200 children from Nursery to Class V. In addition to academics, the institution serves as a safe haven for orphaned and underprivileged children by offering free education, hostel facilities, nutritious meals, healthcare, and emotional support.
Currently, 70 children reside in the school hostel, where comprehensive arrangements for accommodation, food, and wellbeing are ensured. As part of the renovation initiative, key infrastructure upgrades were carried out, including refurbishment of classrooms, ceilings, windows, doors, and other essential facilities, significantly enhancing safety and the learning environment.
The Indian Army expressed its appreciation to the Women Welfare Society, Tuting, for its unwavering dedication. The renovated school stands as a symbol of cooperation between the Army and the local community, contributing to a brighter and more secure future for the region.
