Minister Dukam meets Indian Consul General in Munich, explores trade & skill partnerships

Munich, Feb 12: Minister for Commerce & Industries Nyato Dukam on Thursday held a meeting with Consul General of India in Munich, Shatrughna Sinha, on the sidelines of BIOFACH 2026 in Germany, to explore avenues for strengthening trade, investment and skill development linkages between Arunachal Pradesh and Germany.

During the interaction, the Consul General suggested exploring partnerships between fruit wine producers from Arunachal Pradesh and German wine companies to promote investment, technology exchange and market access for the state’s emerging wine industry.

Employment opportunities for Arunachal’s youth were also discussed. The Consul General highlighted the potential of overseas placements in the nursing sector and emphasised the importance of German language training to enhance employability in Germany’s healthcare industry.

Showcasing Arunachal Pradesh’s growing economic potential, Minister Dukam highlighted key sectors including hydropower, agriculture-allied and food-based industries, organic produce exports, fruit wines and value-added agro products. He underscored export opportunities for organic produce such as kiwi and spices, aligning with India’s recognition as the “Country of the Year” at BIOFACH 2026.

The Arunachal delegation accompanying the Minister includes MLA-cum-Advisor (Trade & Commerce) Dr Mohesh Chai, Secretary (Industries) Hage Tari, Secretary (Trade & Commerce) Taru Talo, OSD Riakji Duchok, and entrepreneurs Techi Hemu and Senya Lowang.

The delegation is participating in BIOFACH 2026 at Nuremberg Messe, where India’s organic growth story and export vision are being showcased globally.

Dukam reiterated that Arunachal Pradesh aims to expand its global footprint through sustainable trade partnerships, investment promotion and skill development initiatives to create long-term opportunities for entrepreneurs and youth.
