RGU-hosted Int’l seminar on ‘Industry 5.0’ commences

RONO HILLS, Feb 13: A two-day international seminar themed ‘Industry 5.0: Sustainability and Human Interactions’, organized by the Department of Commerce, Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), began at the RGU premises here today.

The seminar fosters academic discussion and a deeper understanding of emerging trends in sustainable and human-centric industrial development, while bringing together students, academicians, researchers, and professionals to discuss and explore key insights related to the theme.

The first day of the seminar set the tone for insightful deliberations and knowledge exchange. The session began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by the release of an edited book as well as book of abstract, marking a symbolic and graceful opening to the event.

Prof R C Parida, Head of the Department of Commerce, RGU, highlighted the significance of the event for the institution, particularly in addressing diverse aspects of accounting and contemporary industrial developments.

The conference was graced by keynote speaker, Parthasarathi Mishra, Amnaya Corporation, USA, who outlined the evolution from Industry 1.0 to Industry 5.0 and emphasized the importance of adapting to changing environments and adopting emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence in industry. His presence added valuable international perspective and industry insight to the seminar.

Prof R P Das, Vice Chancellor, Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University, shared academic viewpoints that enriched the intellectual discourse. A plenary talk by Dr Monomita Nandy, Professor, Brunel University of London, UK, offered practical insights into Accounting and Finance, followed by an interactive question-and-answer session that encouraged active audience participation.

As knowledge partner, CMA Chittaranjan Chattopadhyay, Council Member, Member of Taskforce for North East, and Dr Pradipta Ganguly, Secretary, Taskforce for North East, represented the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI).

Prof S K Jena, Dean, Faculty of Commerce & Management, expressed his immense pleasure in the organization of the seminar.

The inaugural programme ended with the rendition of the National Anthem.

The technical sessions commenced later and were conducted simultaneously at multiple venues.
