AAF marks Valentine’s Day with outreach in Puroik vill

ITANAGAR, Feb 16: The Aanwg Anya Foundation (AAF), a registered non-governmental organisation, celebrated Valentine’s Day by organising a social outreach programme for children, women, and elders of Puroik village under Kakoi circle in Papum Pare district.

The Puroik village comprises Lali, Borhill, Jabam, and Boginadi villages, with 52 households and a population of 228.

As part of the programme, members of the Foundation conducted awareness sessions on women’s and child health and hygiene, environmental conservation, and sustainable livelihood practices. The team also interacted with villagers, exchanging views on village development, cleanliness drives, and promoting self-reliance.

Special interaction sessions were held with women and adolescent girls, during which sanitary pads were distributed to promote menstrual hygiene awareness. The Foundation also distributed drinking water bottle carriers and pencil colours to children of the local Anganwadi Centre.

The villagers expressed heartfelt gratitude to the NGO for reaching out to them and appreciated the thoughtful initiatives aimed at promoting health, awareness, and community development.
