Adult Basic English Course concludes; MLA Appa encourages lifelong learning

ZIRO, Feb 16: “There is no age limit for learning,” said Ziro-Hapoli MLA Hage Appa while attending the result distribution ceremony of the 3rd edition of the Adult Basic English Course organised by the Diibo Gaon Bura Buri Association at Govt TPD Middle School on Sunday.

The final examination of the course was conducted on February 8 last. Of the 21 enrolled learners, 18 appeared for the examination across four categories—Beginner, Primary, Junior and Senior. Seven learners each appeared in the Beginner and Primary categories, two in Junior and one in Senior. All candidates successfully passed in their respective categories.

Distributing progress report cards to the learners, the MLA congratulated them on their achievement and encouraged them to remain sincere and dedicated in future sessions. He emphasised the importance of basic education for Gaon Buras and Gaon Buris in effectively discharging their responsibilities in society.

Lempia ZPM Rubu Tadii lauded the organisers for their noble initiative and assured logistic support to ensure continuity of the programme.

ZPMs Pura Pugang (Hija), Nada Chada (Diire), Leegang Tatang (Diibo North) and Tanyang Yajo (Diibo) also addressed the gathering and appreciated the association’s sustained efforts. As part of the event, a drawing competition was organised for the learners, and prizes were distributed to the winners.

The Adult Basic English Course, specially designed for the village heads, has been voluntarily conducted by the Diibo Gaon Bura Buri Association since 2022. The programme is facilitated by volunteer teachers Hano Usha and Dulley Yaring, who have been dedicatedly teaching elderly members of the community since its inception.
