Leyu Abom Soki Yekar becomes Mrs Arunachal 2026

ITANAGAR, Feb 16: Leyu Abom Soki Yekar of Upper Subansiri district has been crowned Mrs Arunachal 2026 at the grand finale of the 14th edition of the beauty pageant held at the Sagalee general ground last evening.

Jenny Pinggam Gaduk of Siang district got the first runner-up spot, while Taba Chomi Techi of Papum Pare district was declared second runner-up in the event.

Organized by the Directorate of Youth Affairs under the aegis of the Muskan Women Foundation (MWF) with support from DY Motors, the pageant witnessed participation from contestants representing various districts, highlighting confidence, cultural pride and social awareness.

A total of 14 contestants competed in the final round for the coveted title, with winners selected after multiple rounds assessing personality, confidence, stage presence and overall performance.

Gracing the event, Thrizin-Buragaon MLA Tenzin Nyima Glow and Lekang MLA Likha Soni congratulated the winners and participants as well, and said that such platforms empower women and celebrate the diversity and strength of State’s communities.

MWF chairperson Ngurang Anung said that the Mrs Arunachal platform aims to empower married women by providing opportunities to express themselves, build confidence and pursue aspirations beyond social boundaries. She also highlighted the growing participation and support for the pageant over the years.

The evening featured vibrant cultural performances by local artists and a fashion show segment showcasing a blend of traditional and contemporary designs, which drew appreciation from the audience.

The event concluded with felicitation of winners, contestants and contributors, marking another successful edition of the beauty pageant.
