APTUF calls off proposed stir following meeting with CM

Itanagar, Feb 17: The Arunachal Pradesh Trade Union Federation (APTUF) has called off its proposed strike that was scheduled to begin tomorrow, following a meeting with the Chief Minister.

According to the Federation, the decision was taken after the state chief assured that their demands would be considered and addressed.

APTUF has been demanding enhancement of pay scale for work-charged (W/C) employees, including computer operators in various engineering departments, from Grade Pay of Rs 1900 to Rs 2400, creation of W/C posts in all engineering departments.

Among other key demands are the regularisation of existing contingency and casual workers who have completed 15 years or more of service, and implementation of the Golden Handshake scheme for contingency workers who have attained the age of 60 years.

Following the assurance from the Chief Minister, the Federation decided to suspend the strike in the interest of constructive dialogue and resolution of the pending issues.
