Itanagar, Feb 21: The Indian Army marked the 40th Statehood Day of Arunachal Pradesh with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour across the Subansiri Valley, including Daporijo and Taksing — the first village in Upper Subansiri district.

Led by the Spearhead Division of Spear Corps, the celebrations witnessed active participation from the Indian Army, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), State Police, civil administration and the local community, reflecting the strong bond between the Armed Forces and civilians in India’s frontier regions.

On the occasion, the Spearhead troops organised a health check-up camp and a tug of war competition at Daporijo, reaffirming the Army’s commitment to community welfare and civil-military cooperation in remote border areas.

The programme commenced with a solemn flag hoisting ceremony, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and Vande Mataram, reinforcing the spirit of national unity and integrity.

The celebrations resonated with pride as local communities presented vibrant traditional cultural performances, showcasing the rich and diverse heritage of the state through tribal dances and exhibitions.

The health check-up camp saw enthusiastic participation from residents of nearby areas, who availed medical consultations and basic healthcare services provided by the Army’s medical team. The initiative aimed at promoting health awareness and improving access to essential healthcare facilities in remote regions, while further strengthening the civil-military bond.

The event symbolised camaraderie, teamwork and mutual trust, enhancing the spirit of unity and cooperation among all stakeholders.

The observance of the 40th Statehood Day served as a powerful reminder of the enduring partnership between the Armed Forces and the local population in safeguarding the nation’s borders while fostering development, harmony and unity in remote areas.
