Natung dedicates two infra projects to EK to facilitate Nyokum celebration

SEPPA, Feb 22: As part of the upcoming Nyokum Festival and to facilitate its celebration in a more befitting way, Home & Indigenous Affairs Minister Mama Natung dedicated two infrastructure projects to East Kameng district.

Prior to Nyokum Yullo, the Nyeing Namlo (VIP Gallery) at Nyokum Lapang, Seppa, and the Nyokum Rostrum along with Nyubu Namlo (Priest House) at Nyokum Lapang, Bana, were inaugurated by Minister Natung, in presence of local MLA Ealing Tallang, organizing committee chairmen and secretaries, heads of executing agency, senior public leaders, and members of the Nyokum Yullo Celebration Committees.

Both the infrastructure projects have been executed by RWD. The newly inaugurated infrastructures have been developed to strengthen the celebration of Nyokum Yullo. These permanent facilities will greatly ease the logistical and financial burden on the community by providing dedicated spaces for ceremonial proceedings, public gathering, and traditional rituals.

The initiative reflects the government’s continued commitment to preserving indigenous heritage, promoting cultural continuity, and supporting community-driven celebrations through sustainable infrastructure development.

Meanwhile, the gathering expressed appreciation for the timely execution of the projects and reaffirmed collective efforts towards preserving and promoting the rich cultural traditions of the indigenous people.
