Pasighat Police restores Rs 98,000 lost in cyber fraud

Itanagar, Feb 22: In a swift and commendable action, the District Cyber Crime Cell, Pasighat under East Siang Police successfully restored Rs 98,000 lost in a cyber fraud case to one Hriday Nath Pandey on Sunday.

According to official sources, the complainant had promptly lodged his grievance on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal following the fraudulent transaction. Acting without delay, the District Cyber Crime Cell, Pasighat, initiated necessary procedures and coordinated closely with the concerned bank, resulting in the successful recovery and restoration of the cheated amount.

Police officials highlighted that timely reporting played a crucial role in preventing further financial loss and facilitating the swift recovery of funds. They reiterated that immediate action within the “golden hours” of a cyber fraud significantly increases the chances of freezing and retrieving the defrauded amount.

Citizens have been urged to report any incidents of cyber fraud without delay through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (www.cybercrime.gov.in) or by dialling the National Cyber Crime Helpline at 1930.

Pasighat Police reaffirmed its commitment to extending all necessary assistance to victims of cyber crime and ensuring prompt and effective action against offenders.
