APLS LDV, RIWATCH host open mic session to celebrate creative expression

ROING, Feb 24: The Lower Dibang Valley unit of the Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society (APLS), in collaboration with the RIWATCH Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage (RCICH), organised an interaction-cum-open mic session themed “Let’s Celebrate Expressions – Ink, Imaginations and Infinite Possibilities” here at Roing Reads, Ezengo, on Monday.

Aimed to encourage creative expression and promote its dissemination to a wider audience, the event drew an enthusiastic gathering of participants, parents, and book lovers. The session showcased diverse expressions from netizens and budding writers. While some participants reflected on anxiety and mental health, others spoke on resilience and social responsibility. Original poems, short pieces, and personal narratives added depth to the literary evening.

A highlight of the programme was an address by budding writer Wulla Linggi, an active member of LDV unit who has published her work through Notion Press. Sharing her writing journey, she inspired aspiring authors and recited a few of her poems. Her book is currently available on Amazon.

RCICH also organised a book exhibition featuring its publications. Centre Head Tage Umbrey highlighted ongoing efforts to preserve and promote Arunachal Pradesh’s intangible cultural heritage. Their recent publication, Traditional Houses of Eastern Arunachal Pradesh: Faiths and Beliefs (Vol-I), was displayed. He also acknowledged continued support from Central Depository Services Limited (CDSL).

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by APLS LDV vice president Ringu Elapra, expressing optimism about the unit’s future growth.
