Assam Rifles conducts door-to-door medical outreach in Changlang

Itanagar, Feb 25: The Jairampur Battalion of the Assam Rifles conducted a door-to-door medical check-up programme at Longvi village in Changlang district on Wednesday, extending basic healthcare support to residents in the remote border area.

The outreach aimed at assisting villagers, particularly the elderly, who face difficulties in accessing hospitals and medical facilities. During the programme, more than 40 households were covered and over 120 residents underwent medical examinations.

Medical teams carried out blood pressure and weight monitoring, provided health counselling and distributed medicines for common ailments such as back pain, knee pain and other routine health issues.

The initiative reaffirmed the commitment of the Assam Rifles towards community welfare and strengthening civil-military relations. The effort reflected the force’s enduring ethos as the “Friends of the North East People” and “Sentinels of the North East,” fostering trust and cooperation with local communities.
