ZIRO, Feb 25: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Lower Subansiri successfully organized 18th Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting for the finalization of the Annual Action Plan (AAP) for the year 2026–27 at its campus.
The meeting was attended by Director ATARI Zone VI Principal Scientist Dr Rajesh Kumar through (virtual mode), District Agriculture Officer, District Veterinary Officer, District Fisheries Development Officer, Block Mission Manager ArSRLM, and DDM (NABARD). Progressive farmers from various parts of the district also actively participated in the programme.
The program was led by Dr Hage Munth, Senior Scientist & Head KVK Lower Subansiri.
During the meeting, Subject Matter Specialists (SMS) from different disciplines presented detailed PowerPoint presentations outlining the proposed activities and action plans for 2026–27.
Dr Kumar emphasized on crop rotation under paddy land to increase crop intensity and also stressed on need based action plan formulation & to develop agroforestry model. Production, Processing & marketing should be promoted by working in convergence with the line departments by strategic separate planning for small & large farmers.
Before finalizing the action plan, the committee reviewed the progress of the previous year and provided valuable suggestions and technical inputs to strengthen the extension activities and ensure effective technology dissemination at the grassroots level. (DIPRO)
