Khandu, Mein hail cent percent participation of Simong, Halen villages in SUMP PFR MoU

Itanagar, Feb 26: Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein have lauded the people of Simong and Halen villages for extending unanimous support to the Pre-Feasibility Report (PFR) Memorandum of Understanding under the Siang Upper Multipurpose Project (SUMP).

Khandu described the signing of the PFR MoU with 100 percent participation from all 128 households of the two villages as historic and highly commendable. He said such extraordinary unity reflects maturity, trust, and a shared vision for sustainable development and long-term progress.

“I deeply appreciate the people of Simong and Halen villages for this extraordinary display of unity and collective resolve. Such unanimous consent strengthens the path of inclusive growth and prosperity for Upper Siang district,” the Chief Minister stated.

He expressed gratitude to every household, respected elders, community leaders, youth, and all stakeholders for their cooperation and positive spirit, adding that their commitment sets a shining example for other villages.

Echoing similar sentiments, Deputy CM Mein termed the development as “another defining moment” for hydropower development in the state. He said that 100 percent participation by all 128 households in support of the PFR for SUMP is not merely a statistic but a powerful reflection of unity, trust, and shared commitment to sustainable development.

“The people of Simong and Halen have demonstrated how collective resolve can shape a stronger and more prosperous future,” Mein said, while extending heartfelt appreciation to the villagers and stakeholders for their cooperation and coordination.

Both leaders expressed hope that the spirit of togetherness would continue to guide Arunachal Pradesh towards inclusive and long-term growth.
