DC chairs monthly DDR-cum-DLMC meeting to review projects, revenue & scheme implementation

Pasighat, Feb 26: The monthly DDR-cum-DLMC (District Development Review-cum-District Level Monitoring Committee) meeting was convened under the chairmanship of East Siang Deputy Commissioner Sonalika Jiwani to undertake a comprehensive review of critical infrastructure projects, revenue generation, and the implementation of government schemes in the district.

The session focused on assessing the performance of various departments and line departments, with emphasis on progress, accountability and timely execution of works.

During the meeting, the DC reviewed the status of key infrastructure projects and took stock of state and centrally sponsored schemes being implemented across the district. The progress of implementation and ground-level challenges were thoroughly examined to ensure that benefits reach the intended beneficiaries within stipulated timelines.

Special emphasis was laid on fiscal performance, particularly the functioning of revenue-generating departments. The DC directed the concerned departments to expedite processes and take necessary measures to achieve the district’s revenue targets.

In a significant directive aimed at strengthening administrative accountability, Jiwani instructed all departmental heads to flag specific issues where they anticipate delays in meeting project deadlines.

Officials were also asked to report difficulties in obtaining Utilization Certificates (UCs) for completed works. She stressed the need for transparent reporting to identify and address bottlenecks at an early stage.

A procedural issue regarding the new DDR reporting format was also discussed. It was observed that while the new format was suitable for some departments, it was not comprehensive for others. The DC directed all working departments to submit details in the old format along with a PowerPoint presentation from the next meeting onwards. (DIPRO)
