Itanagar, Feb 27: The Department of Tourism, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, participated in SATTE 2026, South Asia’s leading travel and tourism exhibition, held from February 25–27 at the Yashobhoomi International Convention Centre, New Delhi. The three-day event witnessed participation from over 45,000 visitors from across India and more than 50 countries.
Arunachal Pradesh took part in the prestigious exhibition under the guidance of Tourism Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona. The Arunachal pavilion prominently showcased the state’s rich cultural heritage, pristine natural landscapes, and immense adventure tourism potential.
The exhibition stall was coordinated by a team led by Adong Moyong, Resident Tourism Officer, Arunachal Bhawan, New Delhi. The pavilion drew a steady stream of domestic and international visitors, generating numerous enquiries and reflecting the growing interest in Arunachal Pradesh as an emerging tourism destination.
During a consultative dialogue at the conference, Minister Sona described Arunachal Pradesh as a “Mini India,” home to over 23 major tribes and more than 100 sub-tribes, each with distinct traditions, dialects, attire, and culinary practices. He highlighted the state’s diverse tourism offerings, including nature and wildlife tourism, historical and spiritual tourism, and adventure tourism. Emphasizing recent improvements in connectivity, he expressed optimism about the promising future of the state’s tourism sector.
Arunachal Tourism has consistently participated in national and international tourism exhibitions to enhance the visibility of the state’s destinations. Platforms like SATTE also provide valuable opportunities for emerging tour operators and hospitality establishments, such as Timilo Boutique Hotel, to connect with a broader audience and showcase their services.
The event served as an effective networking platform for tourism stakeholders, fostering meaningful interactions between service providers and potential travellers. Several enquiries generated during the exhibition are expected to translate into increased tourist footfall to Arunachal Pradesh in the coming months.
