Donyi Polo Airport, a ‘game changer’ for State’s economy: ACCI chief

ITANAGAR, Mar 2: The Donyi Polo Airport, Itanagar in Hollongi, located around 25 Km away from the State capital, has emerged as a vital lifeline for the people of Arunachal Pradesh, significantly contributing in the ease of travel for medical emergencies, higher education, and trade.

In this connection, local residents and business leaders have expressed immense satisfaction with the facility, which has eliminated the long-standing struggle of traveling to Guwahati to catch flights to major metros.

Summing up their experience, local residents highlighted the drastic reduction in travel time, noting that reaching cities like Delhi and Bengaluru is now seamless. “Earlier, a medical emergency meant a grueling road journey to Assam before we could even board a plane. Now, we save precious hours that are critical for patient care,” said a local resident.

Adding on to this, Arunachal Chamber of Commerce & Industries (ACCI) president Tarh Nachung lauded the infrastructure as a game changer for the State’s economy.

The ACCI chief has extended his gratitude to both the Central and State governments for fulfilling this long-awaited dream. He also specifically thanked Union Minister Kiren Rijiju for his proactive role in facilitating weekly flight services, which have bridged the gap between the frontier state and the rest of the country.
