ITANAGAR, Mar 2: The PM Poshan workers from across Arunachal Pradesh on Monday staged a peaceful rally cum dharna in the State capital under the banner of the All Arunachal Pradesh PM Poshan Workers Union, alleging prolonged neglect of their demands.

Hundreds of workers representing various districts participated in the protest. The rally commenced from Akashdeep market and culminated at the IG Park Tennis Court here.

The union demanded immediate release of pending honorarium and enhancement of daily wages, provision of gas cylinder connections and kitchen materials, and assurance of job security for workers engaged under the PM Poshan scheme.

Speaking during the protest, a union representative informed that a 15-day ultimatum has been served to the government, warning of intensified agitation if their demands are not addressed within the stipulated period.

The union submitted an eight-point demand, which includes regular disbursement of pending salaries, enhancement of daily wages from Rs 66.66 to Rs 200, and appointment of workers who have completed 20 years of service to suitable posts in the Education Department. Union leaders stated that the agitation would continue in a democratic manner until the Govt takes concrete steps to resolve their grievances.
