Jt artillery firing exercise shows enhanced operational synergy

GUWAHATI, Mar 2: Spearhead Gunners in collaboration with Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Assam Rifles and Army Aviation successfully conducted a joint artillery firing exercise at Darranga in Assam, showcasing integrated employment of advanced surveillance resources, reconnaissance and surveillance flights and coordinated operations with Mortar Fire Controllers of Infantry, ITBP and Assam Rifles.

The exercise focused on enhancing real-time battle-field awareness, precision target acquisition and swift engagement capabilities in challenging terrain conditions. Surveillance assets and recce flights played a pivotal role in target detection and fire correction.

Seamless integration with Mortar Fire Controllers of Infantry, ITBP and Arunachal Scouts further strengthened inter-agency coordination, communication and rapid response mechanisms. The exercise validated joint operational commitment, high standards of combat readiness and synergy.

This joint training significantly enhanced inter-operability, operational preparedness and collective capability to respond effectively to emerging security challenges. The exercise also validated robust framework for integrated surveillance and firepower employment and enhanced jointness, mutual confidence amongst the Indian Army and Para-military forces, Defence sources said on Monday.
