Arunachal tops Fiscal Health Index among NE, Himalayan states: CM

Itanagar, Mar 11: Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday congratulated the people of Arunachal Pradesh after the state emerged as the top performer among the North-Eastern and Himalayan states in the Fiscal Health Index (FY 2023–24) released by NITI Aayog.

Arunachal Pradesh secured the first position among the North-Eastern and Himalayan states, followed by Uttarakhand and Tripura.

The Fiscal Health Index evaluates States on key pillars such as Revenue Mobilisation, Quality of Expenditure, Fiscal Prudence, Debt Index, and Debt Sustainability.

Congratulating the people of the state on the achievement, Khandu said the recognition reflects Arunachal Pradesh’s commitment to responsible fiscal management, improved revenue generation and better utilisation of public resources.

“This achievement encourages us to further strengthen fiscal transparency, improve the quality of expenditure and continue working towards sustainable development for the people of Arunachal Pradesh,” the Chief Minister said.
