ITANAGAR, Mar 11: East Siang Superintendent of Police Pankaj Lamba has issued an advisory, directing all police personnel to wear helmets while riding or pillion riding two-wheelers.
‘The order comes after it was observed that some personnel were riding without helmets, both in uniform and in civilian attire, violating traffic safety norms,’ the order said.
‘Police officers must lead by example and promote road safety in the district. Non-compliance with the instruction will be viewed seriously and may invite disciplinary action,’ it further reads.
All Officers-in-Charge and unit heads have been directed to brief their staff and ensure strict adherence to the instruction.
