ICSSR-sponsored Research Methodology Course begins at RGU

RONO HILLS, Mar 16: A 10-day Research Methodology Course sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), commenced at Rajiv Gandhi University on Monday.

The programme (March 16-25), organised by the Department of Political Science, aims to promote rigorous and high-quality research in the social sciences. Addressing the inaugural session, the head of the department highlighted the importance of diverse perspectives in social sciences and stressed the need to continuously update knowledge systems in response to rapid social changes.

The course director outlined the objectives of the programme and encouraged participants, including several outstation scholars, to actively engage with expert-led sessions covering topics such as gender issues, Indigenous Knowledge Systems and technology.

The Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences commended the participation of scholars from different states and disciplines, describing it as an example of “unity in diversity.” Referring to the principles of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, he encouraged scholars to pursue practical and socially relevant research and adopt collaborative, technology-driven approaches.

He also informed that the Faculty of Social Sciences at RGU has decided to limit the use of artificial intelligence in academic work to 30 percent and suggested including a special session on the history and culture of Arunachal Pradesh for outstation participants.
