Tawang, Mar 17: A three-day Phase-I training programme for Principal Census Officers, Additional District Charge Officers, and Sub-Divisional Charge Officers commenced on Tuesday at the DC Conference Hall in Tawang.
Organised by the Directorate of Census Arunachal Pradesh under the Ministry of Home Affairs, the training aims to equip officers with the skills required for accurate house listing operations as part of Census 2027.
National Trainer Chafikhur Rahman, Assistant Director of Census Operations, along with Statistical Investigator Saksham Kohli, conducted sessions on Census methodologies and procedures. The programme also included hands-on training using a testing portal to provide practical exposure in data collection techniques.
The training was coordinated by Assistant Commissioner and in-charge Assistant Director of Economics & Statistics, Tawang, Tenzin Jambey.
Officials informed that further training programmes will be conducted across the state, including technical and assistant-level training from March 19–21 and field trainers’ training from March 30 to April 1.
This initiative marks a significant step towards strengthening data-driven governance and ensuring comprehensive and reliable Census coverage in the region. (DIPRO)
