LIKABALI, Mar 18: A meeting chaired by Gobi Nyicyor, Deputy Commissioner Lower Siang on Monday at his office chamber here reviewed the annual repair and restoration work of the double-laning project of the existing road from Design Km 12 to Km 33 of Package-1 under EPC mode.
The meeting was attended by ADC Likabali Mokar Riba, representatives of GWS, General Manager, NHIDCL PMU Basar, and the concerned contractors.
During the meeting, it was observed that the contractor concerned has not been carrying out the repair and restoration works as per the approved scope of work. It was further noted that the quality and quantity of the work are not being maintained in accordance with the provisions of the IRC manuals. Additionally, the progress of the work has been found to be extremely poor compared to the scheduled timeline.
Considering the approaching monsoon season, the DC directed the concerned authorities to expedite the works and ensure completion at the earliest possible time while maintaining the required quality standards.
The DC also emphasized the importance of timely completion of the project for the convenience and safety of the public, and directed the concerned agencies to strictly adhere to the prescribed guidelines and timelines. (DIPRO)
