Itanagar, Mar 19: Former Arunachal Pradesh MLA Talong Taggu passed away on Thursday. He was about 96.
Late Taggu was one of the pioneering leaders who played a significant role in shaping the future of Arunachal Pradesh. A man of wisdom, humility, and dedication, he was deeply respected by all who knew him.
Meanwhile, Governor Lt Gen (Retd) KT Parnaik, Chief Minister Pema Khandu, and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein have expressed deep grief over the passing of former MLA of Liromoba-Rumgong constituency, Talong Taggu, remembering him as a pioneering political leader and a dedicated public servant.
In his condolence message, the Governor said that with the passing of Taggu, who was elected to the Second Legislative Assembly, the State has lost one of its first-generation political leaders who played a significant role in shaping the early democratic foundations of Arunachal Pradesh. He joined the people of the state in mourning the loss and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members, praying for eternal peace of the departed soul.
Chief Minister Khandu described the late leader as a proud ex-serviceman and a committed public servant who served both the nation and the people with unwavering dedication. He conveyed his sincere condolences to the bereaved family.
Deputy CM Chowna Mein also expressed sorrow, stating that Taggu’s contributions to public service and his commitment to the welfare of the people would always be remembered. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends and well-wishers.
Former Liromoba MLA Nyamar Karbak remembered Taggu as a humble, soft-spoken and true leader who had visited every village of the constituency during his tenure. He noted that many villages still bear the imprint of his developmental initiatives.
“A genuinely kind and dedicated person is no more. He will always be remembered for his service and commitment to the people,” Karbak said.
