SEPPA, Mar 24: A successful Garbage-Free Mission was carried out today at Richukrong circle under the guidance and leadership of Gaji Dele, circle officer Richukrong.
The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from villagers across the circle, highlighting a strong sense of community responsibility and collective commitment toward environmental cleanliness.
The cleanliness drive brought together Gram Panchayat Members (GPMs), Gram Panchayat Chairpersons (GPCs), Gaon Burahs (GBs), and members of the general public. Their active involvement reflected unity and shared determination to promote a cleaner and healthier living environment.
During the programme, a key resolution was adopted to install bamboo garbage dustbins along roadsides and at designated locations within colonies. Additionally, colony-wise in-charges were deputed to oversee cleanliness efforts and to ensure that garbage littering is effectively prevented.
In a significant step toward sustainability, the villagers collectively pledged to make Richukrong circle free from plastic and waste. To reinforce this commitment, it was also decided that fines will be imposed on individuals found littering, thereby strengthening accountability and long-term adherence to cleanliness practices.
The initiative stands as a commendable example of community-driven action and sets a positive precedent for environmental stewardship in the region. (DIPRO)
