Two absconding accused in minor rape case arrested in Tawang dist

ITANAGAR, Mar 25: Police in Tawang district's Lumla swiftly apprehended two absconding accused in connection with alleged rape and molestation of a minor girl child reported recently.

According to police sources, information was received at Lumla Police Station on March 23 regarding the shocking incident of rape and molestation of an 11 year old girl. During the time of the incident the minor victim was 9 years old.

Acting promptly, a police team was constituted under the leadership of Officer-in-Charge of Lumla PS, Ajati Mimi. The team included SI Jowa Dondu, ASI Alok Kumar, and constables TC Ngamo, Ujjwal Singh, and Maling Tashi.

Demonstrating swift action, the team working under the close supervision of Superintendent of Police Tasi Darang, succeeded in arresting the two main absconding accused within two hours of receiving the information.

Both accused were subsequently produced before the Special Court under the Sessions Court, Bomdila.

A case has been registered at Lumla Police Station under relevant sections of law, and further investigation is underway, police said.
