ITANAGAR, Mar 25: Home Minister Mama Natung on Tuesday met the three young women from the state who were recently subjected to alleged racial harassment in the Malviya Nagar area of the national capital.
The Minister, who along with advocates Liyi Noshi, Dani Uja, and Anailu Hakung, met the victims, said in a social media post that he listened to their experiences and assured them of full support from the state government and the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
Taking to X, Natung emphasized that the victims are not alone and that the people of Arunachal Pradesh, as well as the entire North East, stand firmly with them. He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring justice in the matter.
“No individual should face humiliation based on their identity. Such discrimination has no place in our society,” he stated, adding that dignity and respect must guide collective actions.
The incident has once again drawn attention to issues of racial discrimination faced by people from the North East in metropolitan cities, sparking calls for stricter action and greater awareness.
