14 units of blood collected at VBD camp in BPGH

PASIGHAT, Mar 25: The KDO Students Union of JNC Unit organized a voluntary blood donation camp on Tuesday at the Blood Centre of Bakin Pertin General Hospital (BPGH), Pasighat in collaboration with ‘AYANG’.

41 youngsters of the KDO clan attended the camp but only 14 units of blood could be collected as others were deferred due to availability of certain blood groups, due to low BP or low weight and some negative blood groups were also not drawn.

Ayi of ‘AYANG’, Aini Taki Taloh, who was present at the camp, encouraged the youngsters to become life savers and said that the deferred ones were told to come and donate whenever their blood group was needed in future.

The president and general secretary of KDO, Dr Kabang Lego and Tayi Taki praised the KDO students of JNC and were quite appreciative of ‘AYANG’s contribution to the society and very thankful to Taloh’s constant support to the KDO and its branches whenever they organize such voluntary blood donation camps.

The Blood Centre medical officer of BPGH, Pasighat, Dr Dilem Modi appreciated the KDO Students Union for holding VBD camps often in collaboration with ‘AYANG’, stating that other organizations should also come forward to keep the Blood Centre’s blood stock running to help patients in emergency cases.
