NABARD launches PLP 2026–27 for Lower Siang

Itanagar, Mar 26: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) launched the Potential Linked Credit Plan (PLP) for 2026–27 for Lower Siang district on Thursday.

The PLP was formally launched by Deputy Commissioner Gobi Nyicyor during the District Consultative Committee (DCC) and District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting held at Likabali. The event was attended by representatives from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Lead District Manager (LDM), District Planning Officer (DPO), officials from line departments, and bankers from institutions including State Bank of India (SBI) and Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank (APRB).

NABARD Assistant General Manager Nitya Mili informed that the bank prepares PLPs annually for every district across the country to facilitate the flow of institutional credit to priority sectors, including crop loans and term loans for agriculture and allied activities.

He stated that NABARD undertakes a detailed assessment to map the credit potential of each district, aimed at ensuring balanced growth across various sectors of the local economy. The PLP projections also serve as a foundation for banks in preparing their Annual Credit Plans.

For the financial year 2026–27, the potential for institutional credit under the priority sector in Lower Siang district has been estimated at Rs 5,304.66 lakh, the AGM informed.
