A novel initiative prioritizing the wellbeing and welfare of police personnel, MLA launches facilities at 5th IRBn HQs

PASIGHAT, Apr 1: In an innovative step towards  prioritizing the wellbeing of police personnel and strengthening their welfare measures,  creating recreational  spaces for the men in uniform, who are serving society tirelessly 24 X 7 on duty, Roing MLA and Advisor to Minister Home & Education Mutchu Mithi today inaugurated the Kendriya Police Kalyan Bhandar (KPKB) Subsidiary Bhandar and Khakee Vibes Café at the 5th Indian Reserve Battalion (IRBn), BHQ, Gumin Nagar here today, in presence of senior police officers, IGP (OPS), PHQ, Apur Bitin, IGP (Central Range) Hibu Tamang, SP East Siang Pankaj Lamba, Commandant 5th IRBn Garima Singh and a host of police officers and personnel.

Earlier, a newly constructed Reserve Police Line Barrack at Police Lines, Pasighat was also inaugurated by Mithi.

Mithi, in his speech, stressed on the commitment of the State government in prioritising the welfare and wellbeing of the police force by strengthening various welfare and infrastructure initiatives, in boosting efficiency, boosting morale, and ensuring the well-being of police personnel. “Such initiatives play a crucial role in building a professional, motivated, and responsive police force,” he emphasized.

The KPKP system, initiated as a welfare venture by the Ministry of Home Affairs (GoI) has been established to provide essential and daily used items at subsidized rates ensuring accessibility, affordability, and convenience within the battalion premises for APP & IRBn personnel.

The Khakhee Vibes cafe has been developed as a dedicated refreshment & recreational space with a warm and relaxing ambience, aimed at providing personnel with a space for relaxation, informal interaction thereby fostering camaraderie and strengthening esprit de corps within the force.

Mithi commended the proactive initiatives led by Commandant Garima and her entire team of 5th IRBn in creative and thoughtful execution of both facilities.

The Commandant 5th IRBn informed the dignitary that every team member of 5th IRBn contributed productively in creating the facilities from woodworks, painting and other creative inputs demonstrating their innate potentials and skills and thanked the dignitary for felicitating them to recognize their contributions. 

 The newly constructed barrack has been developed to provide improved accommodation facilities for police personnel, ensuring better living conditions, hygiene, and comfort within the Police Lines. (DIPRO)
