Dapo holds mass cleanliness-cum-public awareness campaign in five locations

DAPORIJO, Apr 1: A mass cleanliness-cum-public awareness campaign was held in five designated locations under Daporijo township.

District Magistrate Tasso Gambo, while urging that cleanliness SOP and guidelines be strictly followed by the denizens, stated that prohibitory order regarding segregation and disposal of garbage is being issued, which will be implemented strictly for public safety and hygiene.

Circle Officer HQs Ama Nungnu Mara appealed to the denizens to follow the SOP of the Department, urging them to adopt civic sense, and said that one must take care of their own waste and they must segregate the garbage for its smooth disposal.

Tate Nalo, AE Urban & Housing, briefly explained the benefits and disadvantages of mix and segregation of garbage, stating that solid, wet and sanitary garbage items be categorically segregated for proper disposal and recycling.

Besides S C Maru (EE Urban & Housing), several stakeholders and community based organizations actively participated in the event. (DIPRO)
