PM visits Arunachal, Khandu thanks Centre for ‘Pride of Hills’ Initiative

ITANAGAR, Apr 1: Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Donyi Polo Airport, Hollongi, and expressed gratitude for the Centre’s approval of the Rs 25,000 crore ‘Pride of Hills’ initiative under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI).

The Chief Minister said Arunachal Pradesh’s share of Rs 4,900 crore under the initiative would significantly strengthen the state’s financial capacity and accelerate the creation of sustainable, income-generating assets.

Khandu, who along with other leaders saw off PM Modi as he departed for New Delhi after attending a series of election rallies in neighbouring Assam, conveyed heartfelt appreciation of the people of the state to the Prime Minister for envisioning the scheme aimed at supporting Himalayan states.
