TEZU, Apr 1: In a rare and heartfelt gesture, the Lohit District Administration organized a combined farewell programme at the DC’s office conference hall here to honour senior officers who retired on March 31, 2026.
The event marked a significant occasion as five senior officers along with one UDC, Ajit Maio, superannuated on the same day, making it a moment of both pride and loss for the district.
The retiring officers included Soplan Manyu, Chief Conservator of Forest; Aiken Gohain, executive engineer, PWD Tezu; Pemchom Lama, Jt Director Industries; Gulapsi Manyu, Deputy Director (RD); and Radhe Olley, DySP (Jail).
HoDs and officers from across the district attended the programme in large numbers, reflecting the deep respect and admiration for the outgoing officials.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Kesang Ngurup Damo described the simultaneous retirement of multiple experienced officers as a “significant loss for the district administration.” He acknowledged their invaluable contributions in strengthening governance and service delivery over the years.
Extending his best wishes, the DC urged the retiring officials to continue contributing to society with the same dedication and wisdom, while wishing them good health, happiness, and a fulfilling life ahead.
The retiring officers, in their remarks, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the district administration for organizing such a thoughtful and dignified farewell. They noted that such programmes are rarely organized for line departments at the district level, making the event truly unique and memorable.
