Three missing minor girls traced, rescued by Itanagar Police

ITANAGAR, Apr 2: In a swift and coordinated operation, the Women Police Station (WPS), Itanagar successfully traced and rescued three minor girls who had gone missing from Jullang area on March 31.

According to police, a missing report was lodged at WPS Itanagar, following which a prompt search operation was launched. The team conducted searches at multiple locations across the capital region, analyzed Smart City CCTV footage, and developed crucial leads through human intelligence and technical surveillance.

Acting on credible inputs, the police team traced the girls to the Harmuti area and rescued them safely on April 1 at around 3:30am. A juvenile suspect was also apprehended in connection with the case.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the juvenile had allegedly contacted the girls through social media and lured them away from their residence. However, timely police intervention ensured their safe recovery before any further movement could take place.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of law, and further investigation is underway. The rescued girls were medically examined and later handed over to their parents.

The operation was led by Inspector Nich Rupa, OC WPS Itanagar, along with Inspector Dopi Pakam (IO) and other police and CRPF personnel, under the supervision of SP Capital and SDPO Itanagar.

Police officials stated that the successful operation reflects the commitment of Capital Police towards ensuring the safety and security of women and children.
