Dukam ‘focuses’ on Unnnati and MSME schemes for fostering economic growth and self-reliance

PASIGHT, Apr 5: The Central Mopin Festival, Pasighat of the Galo community was celebrated at Giidi Notko here today with traditional fervour and gaiety, showcasing the community's rich cultural heritage.

A slew of activities, including the narration of Mopin Mythology, and cultural presentations, were the highlights of the celebration.

Gracing the occasion as chief guest, IPR&P, Industries, Commerce, Labour & Employment Minister Nyato Dukam said that we share a common heritage and cultural thread in essence. He urged for transmitting our rich folklores and mythology to the younger generation.

Speaking on advancing the State through culture and growth, especially in empowering the youth through skill development and entrepreneurship, the Minister highlighted Unnnati Scheme (Uttar Poorva Transformative Industrialization) and schemes under MSME sector for fostering economic growth & self-reliance. He exhorted the enterprising youth to come forward to avail of the schemes.

Appreciating the organizing committee (CMCC Pasighat 2026) for successful conduct of the festival, he commended their dedicated efforts in upholding the rich cultural values. “Our community festivals like Mopin have agricultural based origin marking the beginning of the agricultural cycle linked to our agrarian traditions,” he added.

Mariyang-Geku MLA Oni Panyang, in his speech, also urged the youth to take forward their heritage with a sense of great responsibility and sense of duty towards community and society.

Among others, local MLAs Ninong Ering and Tapi Darang, PMC Chief Councillor Tagom Padung & his deputy Kamin Lego, councillors, BBYK president Magyar Lego, tourists and a host of dignitaries joined the vibrant Mopin celebrations.

The Mopin festival was successfully celebrated under the leadership of president CMCC- 26 Dr Mope Loyi and GS Jompa Kakki. (DIPRO)
