Itanagar, Apr 6: The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Capital Itanagar, has informed all LPG consumers that a mandatory waiting period has been introduced for booking refill cylinders—25 days for urban areas and 45 days for rural areas.
The measure, as per a government advisory issued on March 13, 2026, aims to curb hoarding and prevent black-marketing of LPG cylinders.
Consumers have been directed to book refills only through online modes. Those with registered mobile numbers who have completed eKYC can book refills via missed calls to 8927225667, 8391990070, or 8454955555. Following the booking, a 6-digit Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) will be sent within 24 hours, which must be presented to the distributor at the time of delivery.
Consumers who do not receive the DAC have been advised to visit their respective LPG agencies to complete eKYC formalities and link their mobile numbers before proceeding with bookings.
