88 papers presented at APU-hosted Nat’l Conf on Contemporary Trends in Mathematical Sciences

PASIGHAT, Apr 6: Arunachal Pradesh University (APU) concluded the National Conference on Contemporary Trends in Mathematical Sciences (NCCTMS-2026) on Sunday, featuring over 88 paper presentations and multiple poster presentations from institutions across the country.

The conference, jointly organized by the Department of Mathematics (APU) in collaboration with the Department of Mathematics, Murkong Selek College (Jonai, Assam), brought together mathematicians, researchers, and scholars from various institutions.

Speaking at the inaugural session, Registrar Narmi Darang shed light on APU's progress in academic and infrastructure development.

He expressed gratitude for the support received from academic and intellectual communities across the country in organizing conferences and seminars. “As APU is just growing, this support and encouragement mean a lot to us,” he said.

The keynote speaker, Prof Nipen Saikia, HoD Mathematics at Rajiv Gandhi University, emphasized the value of academic gatherings. “Conferences are not merely events but spaces and opportunities for academic collaborations and discussions,” he said.

Prof Saikia, a distinguished scholar specializing in Number Theory, Theta-functions, and Partition theory with over 90 research publications, expressed hope for more such academic events at the university.

The inaugural function was also attended by Dr Milorai Modi, Vice Chancellor APU; Dr Dipok K Doley, Principal Murkong Selek College; Prof P C Jena, HoD Education and Dean Academic Affairs; Dr Monshi Tayeng, Controller of Examinations; along with various heads of departments and faculty members from different departments of the university.

The dignitaries formally released the Book of Abstracts, which contains research contributions presented at the conference.

Papers presented covered diverse areas, including number theory, functional analysis, differential geometry, fluid dynamics, fuzzy mathematics, neutrosophic systems, and mathematical modeling.

The offline technical session featured presentations on federated learning applications, neutrosophic differential equations, and decision-making frameworks.

Students from Jawaharlal Nehru College (JNC), Pasighat, and Bodoland University, Kokrajhar, Assam, participated alongside scholars from universities and institutions across India.

The conference was convened by Dr Rinchin Drema, HoD Maths, APU, and Assistant Professor Adam Paksok, and Dr Bikas Das, Assistant Professor, Murkong Selek College, Jonai.

The conference concluded with a valedictory session in the evening, where certificates in all categories were distributed to participants.
