Efforts afoot to fortify Digital Learning Lab and Library at GHSS, Nari

ITANAGAR, Apr 7: A programme on the strengthening of the Digital Learning Lab and Library at Govt Hr Sec School, Nari was held today, in presence of students, teachers, and distinguished guests.

The event marked an important step towards promoting digital education, nurturing reading habits, and opening new learning opportunities for students.

As part of this initiative, the school library has been significantly upgraded with reading chairs and reading tables, new book racks, and a curated collection of recommended books from the National Book Trust for school libraries, along with self-help books, encyclopaedias, and other reference materials. To support digital learning, six computers with Wi-Fi connectivity have also been provided, enabling students to access online resources and develop essential IT skills.

This meaningful initiative was spearheaded and coordinated by Marge Sora, APCS, an alumnus of GHSS Nari, who took this up as a ‘look-back’ gesture by the alumni community. The programme was chaired by DDSE Marte Koyu, who, in his inaugural address, emphasized the importance of IT education in today’s world. He assured that IT learning would be included in the regular routine of students so that they could fully benefit from the facilities now available.

Encouraging students to make active use of the library, he further stated that he would be happy to contribute books from his own side if the students showed sincere interest in reading. He also mentioned that during off-periods and free time, students would be encouraged to sit and study in the library, making it a lively and productive space throughout the school day.

Tater Gadi, i/c Principal GHSS Nari, expressed his happiness and heartfelt gratitude to NE-HEALS for taking up such a noble cause. The Managing Trustee of NE-HEALS, Rage Koyu spoke on the importance of cultivating reading habits among young learners, and urged students to make the best use of the strengthened library. He also encouraged them to take advantage of the courses offered by NIELIT, which could help them develop valuable skills for the future.

Director NIELIT R K Bigensana Singh shared details about various courses available under the institution and motivated students to enroll in them. He highlighted how these programmes can help students build practical knowledge and prepare for a rapidly changing digital environment.
